Celia & Colin dated for a BRIEF 10 years before they got engaged.

The couples receptionjust like their attire & the wedding ceremonys decorwas SO aesthetically flawless and authentically them. And I love all the vertical gardens they have: The beautiful florals were by Brown Paper Design and catering by Paper Palate. After cutting their cake & tasting their sweet array of desserts, C & C finished the night out on the dance floor. How cool is that?

Eileen & Roland visited from Chicago for their engagement session and came back for their ultra cool wedding! Doesnt it go with her stunning Vera Wang dress so well?

Doing a first look truly, logistically, makes the day go so much smoother. Arriving at the Venice Canals, Colin got set up for the big first look as he glanced out at the view and the beautiful colors of the neighborhood.

Jana started the morning reading a letter by Greg.

I picked the spot because I love the contrast it offers. After getting ready, she popped champagne on the balcony with her best friends, and was grinning ear to ear as she looked out at the blue sky & waving palm trees. All rights reserved. As cocktail hour began, delicious drinks & tasty appetizers filled the courtyard.

It was such a festive and vibrant occasion starting with thebaraat, or grooms procession. Orange Blossom Events did a great job putting all the traditional details together within the modern style venue offered by the Smog Shoppe.

What an incredible venue!

Daniel arrived to the ceremony in styleon a decretive white horse. The groomsmens yellow socks added a nice subtle splash of color. Music filled the reception space on loud speakers, and guests cheered and clapped, all appreciating just how *them* this first dance was. Their wedding venue was also the SmogShoppe, which has been on my bucket list forever.

These were my personal favorite florals of any wedding this yearperiod. In front of a giant screen playing a slideshow medley of art stills and videos of random people dancing, Celia & Colin proceeded to bust out high-energy moves to the 80s pop hit This is the Day by The The. Beautiful groupings of dried fall-colored florals were arranged perfectly in each bouquet.

But Eugene + Helen are the sweetest and that was the best part of the day- they are such an amazing compliment to each other and we were so happy to be there to document the love + happinessthat went down that hot, day in Culver City, CA.

They focus on green and modern event spaces that cater to the urban couples here in Los Angeles County. I spent the morning with the groom as he got ready *in aforementioned black velvet suit* & it was evident how stoked he was to finally be Celias husband. That doesnt happen everyday.

They incorporated some of their heritage by sharing their favorite Filipino desserts: That last photo is my favorite moment of the day.

Celia & Colin have an eye for style and it was CLEAR as DAY in every small element of their wedding. The Smog Shoppe in West Los Angeles is an old converted . 2022 Fatima Elreda Photo.

The bridesmens ties were a constellation pattern and the ring bearers bow tie had astronauts on it which tied into Lyndseys career as an Aerospace Engineer and her love of space.

The couples reaction was hilarious and so dang cute. But now lets get back to the wedding day and the ceremony. Though she had originally had her heart set on a destination wedding at The Parker in Palm Springs, the Smog Shoppe ended up speaking to her more. On top of their taste for decor is the couples taste for styleCelia wore a custom champagne silk satin gown, blue velvet heels, and a dainty pearl headband, and was the picture of style and elegance.

This wedding is so lovely and your shots are just unbelievable. The reception was held in the Grand Hall, which used to be a garage.

I lost my grandfather a few years after we got married and I wish I danced with him at my wedding.

We also set aside some time at night to focus on some awesome bride and groom portraits with flash photography. Lets talk more about Colin: a down-to-earth, calm-spirited, big-hearted human with a smile of gold.

Again, the joy on every member of the wedding partys face let me know that the day was going to be legendary and full of SO much love & support for the couple.

One cool thing is Megan made all the cakes herself!

We had a blanket from our engagement shoot and a blanket that Lyndseys aunt knitted for us on the couches for people to use.

It includes wedding photos of the Grand Hall, Courtyard Garden, and couple wedding photos of the surrounding area. Following a quick cheers, we paraded down the hallway and made our way to the Venice Canals for C & Cs first look. Celia eventually walked up with her friends, took one last glance at them, and walked forward to meet her love by the water. When I got the text to be their wedding photographer, I legitimately peed in my pants. We drove out to Joshua Tree for their engagement photos and got someamazing astrophotography photos in the process (I did a little timelapse video of that portion of the shoot). Now as you know 99.8745% of the time, couples choose a slow, emotional love song to share their first dance. During the reception, we pulled them out of the party for 10 minutes to do some quick low-light night wedding photos.

Fast forward to a beaaaautiful breezy day in LA, where C & C had what I can only describe as the MOST aesthetically stunning & energetically serene wedding Ive ever been a part of. THE HARPER WEDDING IN COSTA MESA, A CLASSICALLY BEAUTIFUL DAY, EVANELLE VINEYARDS WEDDING, THE MOST RUSTIC & ELEGANT COMBO, SADDLEROCK RANCH WEDDING ON A BEAUTIFUL BLUE MALIBU DAY. There are areas I still learn about every time I photograph there.

It is as hip as can get.

I wish I couldve taken a bouquet home!! Celia quickly threw off her shoes, Colin did the splits MORE than once, and the two had a giant dance party with all of their friends and family.

Overall, Colin seemed to go about the morning with zero nerves and 100% enthusiasm for what the day would bring.

The brides dress is so beautiful!! Wedding Wire A few floors away from Colin, in another stunning suite overlooking Venice Beach, the bride finished up her makeup and slipped into her silk gown and velvet heels. Once family & friends began to arrive, Celia & Colin welcomed everyone together, and then briefly rehearsed their ceremony.

None other than Melody from Sweet & Saucy Shop. First of all, it was March and almost 90 degrees- summer time weather for these two.

On a trip to Europe a couple of years ago, Colin asked Celia to be his wife and she said an easy yes.. I learned after that her grandfather fell into deep depression after her grandmothers passing, and this moment was the first in a long time when Elieen had seen him like his old self again. So here we are in full on wedding season. Uproarious laughter and love filled the room, and after tears and hugs, the couple headed to the dance floor for their first dance. So lucky you got to shoot a wedding there.

Colin wore black velvet suit accessorized by one-of-a-kind boutonnire, & looked as handsome as could be.

From the flawless dried flower decor & the carefully curated multicolored seats, to the ambiance set by a two-man instrumental group (who Celia once saw performing on the street, and then asked to play music at her wedding), their SmogShoppe celebration was so unique and stunning.

We went into bridal party portraits, family formals, and then bride and groom portraits before the day began! Your email address will not be published. I love how theyre all so different, but still coordinated.

A big highlight was seeing how overjoyed Celias grandmother was during the entire ceremony & the photo-taking process.. she just couldnt stop smiling and I found it so darling to observe the wedding through her proud and loving eyes.

Each cake was a different flavor. The greenery stands out so beautifully and my couple look so good in that space.

I know you have a lifetime of joy & wild dance parties ahead of you.

It was all perfect, and it will go down in my memory as one of the most wonderful & aesthetically PRIME days Ive ever gotten to be a part of.

After calmly writing his vows on a hotel notepad, he and his groomsmen took a shot to get hyped for the day. Eileen is one of the most kindhearted and genuine person Ive had the honor of meeting.

We had Vanessas dads hat sitting on the couch next to her mom, and the blue slate agate stones at our welcome table were from Lyndseys dads home. smog shop that is now a garden walled event space run by Marvimon. I met Vanessa and Lyndsey for coffee and immediately fell in love with them.

Santa Cruz Wedding // Dahlias, Contra Dance + a sweet old barn- congrats Emily + Colin. There's a white "brick" wall where there are different types of bright green palms and cacti.

Once the whole party made their way down, guests turned as Celia descended elegantly from a beautiful staircase to meet her dad. The courtyard garden for the wedding ceremony. The love, joy, energy, and goodness at this wedding was magical from beginning to end.

Guests gushed over how beautiful the ceremony was as the couple took a few final family photos.

Together, they walked to meet Colin at the front of the aisle. And The Smog Shoppe what an amazing venue- succulent walls, texture galore and even the bathrooms are beautifully curated to the point where you want to shoot portraits in them.

Each detail seemed meticulously thought-through, and effortlessly copasetic when combined to create an incredible wedding setup.

We also chose to serve all of our favorite food, like Mac and Cheese balls with homemade ranch (Lyndseys all-time favorite), a deconstructed california roll, an asian noodle dish, and street tacos.

Ugh, Im tearing up just writing this.

They are relatively a quiet but sweet couple, preferring to have a low-key and intimate wedding. Congratulations to two amazing humans. And even more that theyre Salvatore Ferragamo. It's refreshing, beautiful, and gives such a unique vibe to the photos.

I couldnt help but, once again, grin & giggle behind my camera, as this was the first time Id ever seen a couple have a first dance that looked straight out of a John Hughes movie. When Colin turned around and saw his bride, his smile just beamed. It is a vintage space that is run in a modern way (green, that is), located right near Culver City and its art district.

The coffee beans were from our favorite coffee shop that imports Colombian coffee (The Boy & The Bear) and paid homage to Vanessas Colombian heritage.

The ceremony was held under a colorful mandap, or a canopy complete with colorful drapery and flowers.

Aside from all the cool parts of the venue itself, my beautiful bride Jana wore the most beautiful dress and a star-filled veil that was so cool and fun to photograph.

Incredible work! They had this clear vision of what they wanted their wedding to be and most of it was DIY, which I admire. Exiting their ceremony as husband & wife, the couple shared high fives & fist bumps with their guests.

Madhvi and Daniel had their traditionalIndian wedding at the Smog Shoppe in Los Angeles.

When they were finally pronounced husband & wife, Celia gave Colin SUCH a big smooch that when they separated, Colin had a hefty smear of red lipstick all over his face.

Anyone guess where that fab cake is from?

The ceremony was short, sweet, and personal, officiated by a close friend of the couple.

He took such pride in officiating, cracking jokes and telling stories of the friends as well as quoting philosophers and love poems. The Smog Shoppe (or SmogShoppe) is part of the Marvimon family of wedding venues and locations.

When asked about how they met, Colin fondly recalls: Umm.. we met, hit it off, and then ignored each other for a year. However, after listening closely to their wedding ceremony & the speeches their friends gave, I DID manage to gather some more intel than Colin was initially willing to disclose.

And then theres Celia: a sweet-as-candy, stylish-as-fashion-itself, gentle-spirited queen with a heart as big as the sun. This Smog Shoppe Wedding truly was just a dream of a day. Lyndseys best friends mom (another family we are very close with) did the reading, and we asked her to choose a reading that signified love to her and to not share it with us before the ceremony. Energy was so high among the wedding party, and I couldnt help but smile while taking most of the pictures as a result. I love that she wore black shoes!

We really wanted this event to be an extension of our home. I am truly in love with the venue and all the details they have, it is so unique.

She chose Blessing of the Hands and it was perfect!

Although we started at Hotel June, we spent most of getting ready at Smog Shoppe. The hotel is pretty stinkin' cute so I'm glad we took advantage. She loved that it was one of the most sustainably designed urban space. Once guests arrived and were seated (my favorite guest being Grandma, with her walker decorated with a blue ribbon), the music began to play and the groom walked down the aisle with his mama.

Its been a busy Spring with shoots + meetings galore and today we are sharing a gem of a day!

Its a smog check from the 80s thats been converted into a cozy, electric, nature-filled wedding venue in the heart of LA.

Completely solar powered and all. Our entire ceremony was written by Vanessas best friends mom (we are very close with their family), and her best friends dad was our officiant.

At elongated tables lit with dimly candles, family and friends dined on a delicious meal and listened to heartfelt speeches from Celias sister, Colins best friend, and both the bride & grooms fathers. Overwhelmed by how beautiful Celia looked, once his jaw was up off the floor, Colin gave her a spin (which created my favorite photo) and just continued to looked her up and down.

SO MUCH PRETTY! This is one of the reasons why I love weddings so much.

This was a perfect day to have a Smog Shoppe Wedding in Los Angeles, it truly was the perfect day and my couple made it so much better.

They wanted it to be a more intimate experience, it was perfect and there were tears.

We also had our dog Maddie be a flower girl.

Smog Shoppe Venue is filled with different types of greenery in various areas as well as bold wallpaper patterns.

This venue turned from a smog-check place to a 100% solar powered wedding venue. Completely content in their relationship, it was just never high on their agendas to tie the knot officially, so they waited until the time felt right.

Helen + Eugene were married at The Smog Shoppe earlier this month and we couldntbe happier to share some images from their amazing celebration.

And then wore her dress in the bridal suite's bathroom.

We focused on just a few shots of Jana and her girls in their robes. Everyone hugged & celebrated together, and then C & C walked over to a beautiful bridge for a few more photos. These pictures show how cute they are together in a genuine and sincere moment.

We ran into the florist (Petals and Pop Shop) at the bottom of the elevators, and I was immediately STUNNED when I glanced at the brides & bridesmaids bouquets. Welcoming, Quirky, Fun, Warm and Loving. But read on for our day of Smog Shoppe wedding photography! So it was our pleasure to capture their beautiful wedding day. The white wine that we served (Joel Gott Sauvigon Blanc) was the wine that we drank together on our first date. I cried as Eileen danced with her grandfather. We drew inspiration from the slate blue hues in our living room and coincidentally came across the perfect blue while bridesmaids dress shopping. Taking in the moment, the couple embraced deeply & then motioned all of their friends over to join them.
