David Combs Obituary - Raleigh, NC OBITUARY David Christopher (Chris) Combs May 19, 1975 - September 3, 2020 IN THE CARE OF Brown-Wynne Funeral Home & Crematory David Christopher Combs, son of Charles Francis and Deborah Dough Combs, passed away Wednesday morning, September 3rd, after a five-year battle with ALS. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved David Chase Combs of Hazard, Kentucky, who passed away at the age of 34, on April 2, 2022. Following Chris diagnosis in 2016, Chris, Gena and their incredible friends established Team Chris Combs and in just four years, the community came together and raised in excess of $3.5 million. David was a great family man and loved spending time with his children, granddaughter, and extended family. January 31, 2023 David played sports at Spencer High School during his high school years and was a member of the Teenage Firefighters in Spencer from 1942-1957, was past president of the local Chamber of Commerce, recipient of Jaycees Young Man of the Year during 1967.
