FACTORY installed sun roof have gutters, I finally got around to doing some investigating. Just bought an 06 expedition ,so new to this forum. I am sure that the car has had this problem forever and that it only got bad after enough dirt had flushed down the drain tubes (yes, there was plenty of dirt there) to clog up the smallish holes in the semi-porous foam stuff. Replace the grommetwith anything similar and apply some silicon. I spoke with the dealer today and he said he thinks the sunroof drains are clogged. I just picked it up yesterday and I am hoping it rains today so that I see if it stopped leaking. No sooner had I done that - then it rained for 3 days straight. Pasted as rich text. It has nylon bands that are supposed to have enough tension to keep this mechanism out of the way when the sunroof closes. It seamed to drain ok with some water but I ran some grass trimmer string down through it and flushed it about 3 time more with water. Let's hope it sorts it. Family Handyman.
